Iran Targets 21 U.S. Military Sites in Middle East
In a formal statement, the IRGC claimed long-range missiles had obliterated four major installations at the Al-Azraq base in Jordan, including hangars sheltering F-35 fighter jets and a command-and-control center. Jordan's military pushed back on the claim, announcing that its air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed five Iranian missiles en route to the Al-Azraq area — with falling debris causing neither casualties nor material damage on the ground.
Kuwait was also in the crosshairs. The IRGC confirmed it had directed a separate drone assault against the Ali Al Salem Base, characterizing the strike as a necessary answer to what it labeled American aggression.
Tehran issued a blunt warning alongside its military announcements, declaring its forces stood fully ready to deliver a "crushing and decisive" response to any further provocation, and placing direct responsibility for any consequences squarely on US forces.
In a separate earlier claim, the IRGC said it had downed a US MQ-9 drone over Jam County in southern Bushehr province.
The Iranian offensive came hours after the United States conducted strikes on southern Iran. US Central Command (CENTCOM) subsequently confirmed the conclusion of what it characterized as "self-defense" strikes, stating that American fighter jets had targeted Iranian air defense systems and radar installations near the Strait of Hormuz — a direct response, CENTCOM said, to Iran's earlier downing of a US Army Apache helicopter.
