Turkey Strongly Denounces Israeli Extremist Raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque

(MENAFN) Türkiye on Monday strongly criticized the incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremist groups a day earlier, which took place under the protection of Israeli security personnel. The condemnation also extended to actions carried out during the visit, including the display of an Israeli flag and the singing of the country's national anthem.

According to reports, the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing its strongest objection to the incident and warning of its potential consequences.

The ministry stated that such actions undermine the established historical and legal status of Jerusalem, particularly that of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It added that these measures represent a blatant breach of international law and could further aggravate tensions and instability across the region.

"In the face of these dangerous provocations and violations by occupying Israel against Muslim and Christian holy sites, we reiterate our call for the international community to increase pressure on Israel," the statement said.

According to reports, Türkiye urged the international community to take a firmer stance and intensify efforts aimed at preventing further violations and reducing escalating tensions surrounding religious sites in Jerusalem.
