Report States Iran Attacks Caused Broader Damage to US Bases in Middle East
The report claims that Iranian retaliatory attacks on US bases in seven countries resulted in damage that is “far worse than publicly acknowledged and is expected to cost billions of dollars to repair,” as stated by reports.
According to the same reporting, the strikes hit multiple types of military infrastructure, including warehouses, command centers, aircraft hangars, satellite communication systems, runways, radar installations, and several aircraft.
The Pentagon has not publicly detailed the full scope of the damage, and US Central Command has declined to comment on battle damage assessments, according to reports.
The report also said that some Republican lawmakers have privately criticized Pentagon officials for not providing clearer information on the extent of the damage or the estimated repair costs.
“No one knows anything. And it’s not for lack of asking,” one congressional aide was quoted as saying, adding that requests for details have gone unanswered even as the Pentagon seeks a record-high budget.
