Iran Carries Out Execution Over Alleged Israel Espionage
The death sentence of Kurosh Keyvani, alleged to have connections with Israel’s foreign intelligence service, Mossad, was enforced after approval by the Supreme Court, the statement said. Keyvani was accused of transmitting images and intelligence on strategic locations to Mossad.
Keyvani was arrested on the fourth day of a 12-day conflict that erupted in June last year, when U.S. and Israeli forces attacked Iran. In recent months, Iranian authorities have detained dozens of individuals suspected of links to Israel, asserting that strict measures against threats to national security will continue.
This development occurs amid ongoing joint operations by Israel and the U.S. against Iran, which began on Feb. 28 and have reportedly resulted in around 1,300 deaths, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting U.S. military assets, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
