Iran, US End Nuclear Negotiations in Oman

(MENAFN) Iranian media report that the most recent round of nuclear-related discussions between Iran and the United States wrapped up on Friday in Oman, with both sides preparing to head back to their home countries.

An Iranian journalist traveling with Tehran’s delegation said the exchanges with Washington have ended “for now” following several hours of indirect dialogue.

Other reports also confirmed the close of the meeting, indicating that initial evaluations point to an “understanding to continue negotiations.”

According to these accounts, talks that began early Friday involved Iranian and US representatives relaying their positions, concerns, and proposals to one another through Oman’s foreign minister, Badr Albusaidi, who acted as the intermediary.

The session concluded with expectations that another round will be held in the coming days, according to reports.

The renewed indirect engagement comes after weeks of escalating tensions, driven in part by US President Donald Trump’s warning of possible military action against Tehran.
