Russia Says It Took Control of Another Ukrainian Village
Russia's Defense Ministry released a statement confirming the village fell under Moscow's authority following military operations by the Zapad (West) force grouping.
In a separate development, the Russian Black Sea fleet's press office rejected Ukrainian claims regarding the sinking of a submarine at Novorossiysk port.
Captain 1st Rank Alexey Rulev, who heads the Black Sea Fleet press service, stated: "Reports from Ukrainian special services regarding the alleged destruction of a Russian submarine at the Novorossiysk naval base are false."
Rulev further explained that a Ukrainian naval drone made an attempt to strike fleet infrastructure but was unsuccessful in reaching its target. He emphasized that neither vessels nor submarines belonging to the Black Sea Fleet stationed in the bay suffered any damage, and crew members emerged without casualties.
Ukrainian special services had asserted on Monday that they successfully hit a Varshavyanka-class submarine at Novorossiysk, claiming the craft was rendered inoperable.
