Egypt Launches Diplomatic Engagements Ahead of Summit
(MENAFN) Egypt on Saturday declared the beginning of extensive diplomatic communications with Arab, Islamic, and regional leaders in preparation for the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit that Qatar is set to host on Monday.
The gathering will focus on the latest Israeli assault in Doha.
In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry, it was noted that Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held talks with his counterparts Faisal bin Farhan of Saudi Arabia, Hakan Fidan of Türkiye, and Ishaq Dar of Pakistan.
The ministry highlighted that these discussions came “in light of rapidly evolving regional developments and as part of joint coordination with regional states ahead of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha.”
During the talks, the ministers exchanged perspectives on “ways to address serious political and security challenges facing the region and the repercussions of recent events.”
They further stressed the significance of sustaining political, diplomatic, and economic collaboration to reinforce stability and security within Arab and Islamic nations.
The ministry reiterated the collective call for “solidarity among Arab and Islamic nations at this critical juncture” and emphasized the urgency of aligning positions to safeguard regional priorities and uphold security.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari confirmed on Saturday that Doha will indeed host the summit, where participants are expected to deliberate on a draft resolution regarding Israel’s strike on Qatar.
