Israeli Settlers Try to Establish Settlement in Golan

(MENAFN) A group of young unauthorized Israeli settlers, involved in the ongoing seizure of Palestinian territories, made an attempt to create a new settlement outpost in Syria’s Quneitra governorate.

This area lies within the disengagement zone of the Golan Heights, which remains under Israeli occupation.

Visual evidence shared across social media platforms displayed the settlers breaching the security barrier within the occupied Syrian Golan region, ultimately reaching the village of Bir Ajam in Quneitra.

The videos showed the settlers pouring concrete into wooden frames they had transported to the site.

One particular shot captured the intended name of the settlement outpost on Syrian land: “Neve Habashan.”

Since the collapse of the Ba'ath regime, Israel has launched multiple assaults on different Syrian provinces.

At the same time, it has erected military facilities and observation posts both within and beyond the boundaries of the 1974 disengagement zone in Quneitra.

In this southern part of Syria, Israeli forces also carry out routine patrols.
